Taunton, MA – The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Weather Warning until 10AM Friday for Rhode Island, South Central and Southwest Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
The coastal storm warning encompassed the entire State of Rhode Island, including cities and towns from Smithfied in the Northwestern part of the state, to its southernmost points in Westerly. Accumulations of 6-10 inches are predicted.
Effecting all of Southern New England, winter’s first significant Nor’Easter is expected to bring blizzard conditions across portions of Eastern Plymouth County and Cape Cod in neighboring Massachusetts.
Also, expected – heavy snow and dangerously low wind chills starting Thursday night and extending into early Friday morning. The storm is expected to produce heavy snow, dangerously low wind chills and considerable amounts of blowing and drifting snow with poor visibility.
