Taunton, MA – The National Weather Service, Taunton issued a Coastal Hazard and Flood Advisory as of 10:21 a.m. Saturday.
NWS predicted likely minor coastal flooding along portions of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts South Coast During Sunday mornings high tide, with a 1 to 2 foot storm surge.
Additional minor coastal flooding was said to be a possibility during Sunday evening’s high tide.
Areas affected include Newport, Bristol, Eastern Kent and Southeast Providence, Rhode Island. Vulnerable areas encompass much of the Southern Rhode Island coast including Narragansett Bay. Southern Bristol Massachusetts was listed, including Fall River and Westport.
The Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 6am to 10am Sunday morning.
