Taunton, MA – The National Weather Service extended its Flash Flood Warning for Washington, Kent, Newport and Providence counties in Rhode Island; Plymouth and Bristol Counties in Massachusetts until 11:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the latest NWS Severe Alert, rapid and potentially life threatening flooding of small streams and roadways is imminent.
Rainfall amounts in the effected areas was reported at 2.5 to 5 inches, with the flash flooding threat remaining through midday.
Local road flooding and ponding evident
As of an 11:00 a.m. road trip, significant street flooding and ponding was seen in Charlestown, South Kingstown and Narragansett, Rhode Island.
Reports from North Kingstown are similar.
