Narragansett– The 2014 RI Lifeguard Tournament is headed into its final night on Monday evening at Scarborough State Beach in Narragansett.
Narragansett Surf Rescue has the lead with teams preparing for the last leg of the tourney. Games carried over into this week due to heavy surf on August 6 causing an evening’s events to be postponed.
Out in front by more than 40 points, Narragansett is set to win its 25th consecutive Guard Games.
The battle for second and third place is hot between Westerly and Scarborough with Westerly Surf Rescue holding a 1-point lead over its rival Scarborough Surf Rescue.
Standings as of Saturday night’s close were as follows:

Westerly – 138 points
Scarborough – 137 points
Second Beach – 124 points
Roger Wheeler – 69 points
East Matunuck – 67 points
Misquamicut – 65 points
Final Competition is scheduled for 6:45 pm Monday evening.
