Bill Clinton strikes again, jokes about shooting people on Wall Street
Former Pres. Bill Clinton said that U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ supporters would shoot every 3rd person on Wall Street. The latest callous remark was one in a number of blunders presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton’s husband made acting in her stead. Video courtesy CNN/Youtube
“I think its fine that all these young students have been so enthusiastic for her opponent. It sounds so good, just shoot every third person on Wall Street and everything will be fine.” – Former President Bill Clinton
Stumping for his wife in Fort Washington, Clinton’s controversial remark comes after his wife’s campaign adopted an anti-gun platform to garner support in the Empire State.
Blasting out across the airwaves and social media, the former president’s latest gaffe, one that can easily be described as a brash and condescending statement, callously added to his bucket of blunders.
In February, Clinton told a New Hampshire crowd that he wished he wasn’t married to the former Secretary of State, so he could say what he wanted to say.
Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager weighed in on the comments with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday.
“There has been a pattern developing of the Clinton campaign disparaging large numbers – millions really – of young voters who have come out to support Bernie Sanders. President Clinton did it tonight, Weaver said. Barnie Frank who’s a surrogate for the Clinton campaign has done it. The Secretary has done it herself.”
Weaver said that the Clinton strategy, to offend millions of voters was not conducive to building and strengthening the Democratic party.
“That was terrible,” said Angela Rye, political commentator for CNN on Friday.
“It was terrible – a horrible choice of words. Bill Clinton has to get his mouth under control. He has been the worst surrogate for his wife.”
